For this project, I decided to photograph people and their outfits on the streets of Burlington, Vermont. I left the subjects' heads out of the frame to allow the viewer to make assumptions about the subject based solely on the outfits. I feel that people’s fashion often says a lot about themselves, but I wanted to explore with this project what people try to express with their outfits. For some people, clothing is an extension of them as a person, or as the person they want to be. But for others, clothing is just a necessary fabric. With my photographs, I wanted to capture the people who use fashion as an extension of themselves and, by only including their outfits in the photo, their anonymity is preserved and their personality shines through in their outfit.
